QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality assurance refers to planned and systematic production processes that provide confidence in a product's suitability for its intended purpose. It is a set of activities intended to ensure that products satisfy customer requirements in a systematic & reliable manner. A program under which a company ensures that all products and services are of high quality and will satisfy customer expectations.

Quality Assurance is a formal preventive methodology designed to assess the quality of products or services provided at each stage of the product development.

Two key principles of QA:

  • "fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose)

  • "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated in the 1st wrong step)

Quality assurance is the process of verifying or determining whether products or services meet or exceed customer expectations. Quality assurance is a process-driven approach with specific steps to help define and attain goals. This process considers design, development, production and service. Quality Assurance is that set of activities that are carried out to set standards and to monitor and improve performance so that the care provided is as effective and safe as possible.
